Horrific Tales Publishing was founded in 2011 by Graeme Reynolds with the intention of creating a publishing house that he, as an author, would ideally want to work with.
That meant ensuring that every book published was produced to the highest quality possible, and that authors were given fair contracts, payment terms and that royalties were paid promptly, while keeping abreast of changes in the market to ensure that each title was marketed in the most effective manner possible.
With the money earned from the presses first two titles, High Moor and High Moor 2: Moonstruck, the company was expanded to produce a limited number of top quality novels each year from some of the genres most promising new authors. In 2016, the press will begin publishing premium novella titles from more established authors in addition to the core novel titles.
Meet The Team!
Graeme Reynolds – Commissioning Editor / Owner
Graeme is the depraved individual responsible for the High Moor series. He also is the only person prepared to wade through the slush pile and select the books that Horrific Tales Publishing produces each year. This means that all of the books we put out are as disturbed and twisted as he is. Which is probably a good thing, really, when you think about it.
Kerri Patterson – Structural / Story Editor
Kerri has one job at Horrific Tales – to wield the pointy editorial stick of doom and make authors cry – and she does it oh-so-very-well. When she is not brutally attacking manuscripts and butchering unnecessary characters, plot points or dialogue, she lives in Weston-super-Mare with her husband and children. In her spare time she emails Michael Bray abusive messages, whether she is working on one of his books or not.
Lisa Lane – US Editor
Lisa Lane has been writing dark speculative fiction for over twenty years and has numerous publications under different, genre-specific pseudonyms. Currently residing in the dusty outskirts of Sin City, she and her husband, editor and educator Thomas B. Lane Jr., run their freelance partnership, Cerebral Editing.
Steve Lockley – UK Editor
Steve Lockley has been a published author for more than 30 years. He’s served as a judge for the World Fantasy Awards and been nominated for a few BFS Awards for his own work. He’s edited most genres from Fantasy, SF, Horror, Romance, Erotica and Dog Handling. That last one is not a euphemism.
Chris Barnes – Audiobook Production
Chris Barnes is an Audio Book narrator, producer and is the voice of High Moor. You can usually find him in a small soundproofed cupboard finding new ways to terrify audiences.
